My work is primarily realistic; I utilize pastoral scenery and warm sunlight to evoke peaceful, nostalgic moods. Photographing the Alberta prairies and mountains provides me pristine imagery for sketches and paintings.
Several years of drawing instruction under Betty Trudeau during my teenage years laid a foundation for persistent observation to inform my artistic efforts. A personal fascination with natural patterns provides me creative direction, while client requests for custom work continually challenge my perspective.
I believe in the inspiration of 'non-artists' -- art can turn into stifling pomposity, whenever the art world closes in on itself. Art should be accessible and easily appreciated by everyone, because we all see beauty.
Private collections in Canada and the United States hold most of my sold work.
